The Bold Opinion Media

Founder, CEO

The Bold Opinion originated as an independent media outlet that focused on local stories and unrecognized individuals that contributed to their communities. 

Today, The Bold Opinion is now a nonprofit 501(c)(3) multimedia organization that aims to educate, inspire, and equip underserved youth for careers on the media spectrum.

The Bold Opinion Internship

Developer, Leader

Developed and lead a six-week internship program that propelled journalism students forward in their careers with hands-on experiences and publishing. The program yielded, on average, 150 applicants.

Students who experienced this program continue to consult Jannah as a media mentor and even launched their own publications.

Twitter Birdwatch

Participant (2022)

Actively participated in Twitter's Birdwatch program; a community-based approach to deciphering misinformation. Aiding in the streamlining of clear and accurate information to the platform's users, Birdwatch allows participants to provide sources, write notes, and flag tweets based on the information given.

Twitter Spaces Beta

Participant (2020+)

Actively participated in Twitter's beta program for the feature's launch in 2020. Jannah aided in collecting user data by hosting spaces and providing feedback for Twitter's engineering team. 

Sports Talk: The George-Anne

Founder

Jannah founded Sports Talk with The George-Anne, Georgia Southern University's first merger between the student newspaper and local television network (GSN-99). She produced, hosted, and edited a weekly sports show that broadcasted on the local t.v. network for Eagle sports fans in the region.

Duties included anchoring, script writing, completing interviews with players/coaches, etc.

Sports Talk programming still exists today.

Digital Undivided

Dooney Fund Recipient (2020)

Jannah, for The Bold Opinion, received COVID-19 pandemic relief grants from Digital Undivided for economic growth of Black and Latina owned businesses.
